Abstract

The report documents the vital role of Black colleges in the South in helping to meet the national imperative to produce more professionals in the field of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at a time of rising shortages. The report highlights the STEM programs of six Historically Black Colleges and Universities and some of the remarkable graduate students who received their undergraduate degrees at HBCUs.
