The events industry has made slow progress in terms of diversity and inclusion for the LGBTQ+ community. However, many events are still lacking initiative and many other areas of the hospitality industry are not as progressive. The key principle when planning an event supporting a diverse community is everyone should feel welcome. Protecting diversity and inclusion can be difficult, but it is the responsibility of each event planner to create an inclusive environment for all attendees.
