Virginia Tech's MBA program ranked in world's top 100

BLACKSBURG, Va., Feb. 5, 2004 – The MBA program in Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business ranked 63rd worldwide in the Financial Times 2004 business school rankings released recently. Among U.S. business schools, the college ranked 43rd.

The college made the top 10 among U.S. business schools in two categories: 2nd in "aims achieved by MBA alumni" (based on the extent to which alumni fulfilled their goals or reasons for completing an MBA) and 6th in the "value for money" category. The college also ranked 11th in "percentage salary increase" MBA graduates received, a category that reflects the purchasing power of their degree.

The rankings are based on data reported to the London-based Financial Times by the institutions and their alumni. The information is audited by KPMG. Twenty criteria were used to determine the final ranking, including indicators of the career progress of graduates, student and faculty diversity, and the school's research productivity.
