BLACKSBURG, Va., Nov. 30, 2007 – Dr. John Robertson, a faculty member in the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech, recently received the Bayer Animal Health Faculty Recognition Award from the Class of 2010 during the college's 24th annual awards program.
The award is presented by the second year class to a faculty member participating in the first-year instructional program in recognition of faculty commitment to teaching and the impact good teachers have on the career of the veterinarians they train.
Robertson, a professor of pathology in the college’s Department of Biomedical Sciences and Pathobiology, is the director of the Center for Comparative Oncology. He received his V.M.D. and his Ph.D. in pathology from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to Virginia Tech, Robertson was a senior pathologist with ICI Americas and an associate veterinarian with Media Veterinary Hospital.
The Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (VMRCVM) is a two-state, three-campus professional school operated by the land-grant universities of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg and the University of Maryland at College Park.
