Frank Gwazdauskas
BLACKSBURG, Va., Oct. 5, 2010 – Frank Gwazdauskas, the David and Margaret Lincicome Professor of Dairy Science in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Virginia Tech, has been conferred the “David and Margaret Lincicome Professor Emeritus” title by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors.
The title of emeritus may be conferred on retired professors and associate professors, administrative officers, librarians, and exceptional staff members who are specially recommended to the board of visitors by Virginia Tech President Charles W. Steger. Nominated individuals who are approved by the board of visitors receive an emeritus certificate from the university.
A member of the Virginia Tech community since 1974, Gwazdauskas’ excellence in research was repeatedly recognized by his peers with awards such as the Alumni Award for Excellence in Research, the American Dairy Science Association’s Pharmacia and Upjohn Physiology Award, the 2010 Certificate of Teaching Excellence from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and, most recently, his appointment as Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association.
He authored or co-authored more than 170 research papers in multiple scientific journals.
Gwazdauskas received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree and Ph.D. from the University of Florida.
