BLACKSBURG, Va., Dec. 7, 2010 – No tests, no papers, no grades — just learning for the love of it.
Virginia Tech Continuing and Professional Education is hosting an open house to introduce the new Virginia Tech Creative Learning Academy for Senior Scholars. The Dec. 16 event will be at the Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center from 2 to 4 p.m.
Information will be provided about a series of six sample classes beginning in March. Those attending will also have an opportunity to meet the instructors and help shape the content of future course offerings. There is no charge for the open house, but pre-registration is strongly encouraged either online or by calling Ann Brown at (540) 231-7966.
The academy is designed for those 50 years of age and older and features diverse and stimulating topics by local experts. The spring sampler will include these classes
Classes will be held one afternoon for six consecutive weeks and each 90-minute session will be devoted to a different topic. One registration/membership fee of $45 allows participants to attend as many of the six classes as they like.
