Dashboard Confessional
BLACKSBURG, Va., April 16, 2010 – The Virginia Tech Union has announced that alternative rock band Dashboard Confessional will perform on Tuesday, April 20 in Burruss Hall auditorium at Virginia Tech.
Doors for the event open at 7 p.m. and the event begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for students and $25 for the public. Ticket prices increase by $5 on the day of the show. Tickets are available for presale at the University Unions and Student Activities Ticket Office, first floor Squires Student Center, or online.
Dashboard Confessional was originally lead singer Chris Carrabba’s side solo project, but by 2002 it became his main focus. The band has produced six albums including “The Shade of Poison Trees,” “Dusk and Summer,” and “A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar.” The band’s newest album, “After the Ending,” returns to the spirit of their 2000 release, “Swiss Army Romance.” Carrabba said, “The sound is old, but the optimism is a new thing,” and fans are embracing the sound with a fervor he hasn’t seen before.
The band’s fan base has grown and expanded, remaining loyal through changes and growing up, just as the band has. Carrabba said the band is excited to come to Blacksburg and perform for the students. “We keep doing college shows because the energy is awesome. We are really excited about the show.”
