BLACKSBURG, Va., June 13, 2008 – The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors will hold its quarterly board meeting at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 20, at the Virginia Tech Northern Virginia Center (7054 Haycock Road, Falls Church, Va., 22043).
Earlier that day, from 8 to 10 a.m., the Academic Affairs, Buildings and Grounds, Finance and Audit, and Student Affairs and Athletics committees will meet in open session at the Northern Virginia Center.
On Thursday, June 19, the Research Committee will meet at 4 p.m. for a presentation and tour at Virginia Tech’s Advanced Research Institute, located at 4300 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 750, in Arlington, Va. The Advanced Research Institute, formerly the Alexandria Research Institute, provides a platform for Virginia Tech's engineering and computer science researchers to interact with counterparts in academia, government and industry around the National Capital Region.
Topics to be discussed during the two-day meeting include the university’s 2008-09 budget; plans for a new parking structure on the Blacksburg campus; plans for a new building housing the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Visitors Center; and a new master’s degree program in information security assurance.
