BLACKSBURG, Va., July 14, 2005 – Tamim Younos, of Blacksburg, interim director of the Virginia Water Resources Research Center at Virginia Tech, has edited the book Total Maximum Daily Load: Approaches and Challenges.
The TMDL program is a regulatory and technical process mandated by the Federal Clean Water Act to restore the biological, chemical, and physical integrity of nation’s lakes, rivers, and streams. Younos' research area of interest is environmental hydrology and water quality management.
"The book will be a valuable reference for graduate programs in water resources and will serve as a guide to state and local governments and consulting firms involved with the TMDL issues," Younos said.
The 348-page book is published by PenWell Publishing in Tulsa, Okla.
