BLACKSBURG, Va., May 2, 2008 – The Virginia Tech Homecoming Board has launched a homecoming theme contest that is open to all Virginia Tech students, faculty, staff, and to community members.
"The Homecoming Board wants everyone to have a chance to suggest a theme," said Monica Hunter, associate director of campus programs.
The winning theme will be selected by the Homecoming Board and will be the basis for all events throughout the weeklong celebration.
The person theme submission is chosen as the winner will be awarded a pair of tickets to all events during the homecoming celebration. The events include a performance by a hypnotist, a concert, Laugh Riot, a step show, and the football game. The winner will also have a chance to serve as a judge for the homecoming parade.
In the 2008 homecoming game, slated for Saturday, Oct. 4, Virginia Tech’s Hokies football team will face the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.
Theme contest idea submissions can be submitted online. Deadline for submission is May 16, 2008.
