Programs announced for 2009 Virginia Bioinformatics Institute's annual Summer Institute

BLACKSBURG, Va., April 20, 2009 – As part of its education and outreach initiative, the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute at Virginia Tech is offering several summer professional development programs for the 2009 Virginia Bioinformatics Institute Summer Institute.

The purpose of the summer institute is to provide professionals and undergraduate and graduate students with workshop and professional development opportunities that allow for direct interaction with Virginia Bioinformatics Institute faculty.

The workshops are held at varying times from late May until late July at the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute, located on the Virginia Tech campus. For registration information, refer to the websites included in the workshop descriptions.

The events taking place in the summer of 2009 are as follows:

Oomycete Bioinformatics Workshop

Cyberinfrastructure for Biological Researchers, Educators and Developers (CIBRED) Workshop

Complex Pathway Simulator (COPASI) Workshop
