Billions of individuals caused the present climate change problem; therefore, billions of individuals should be able to correct it by altering their lifestyles. This would involve using less fossil fuels for transportation, electricity, and heating. Some experts suggested that in order to save the planet we must reduce carbon dioxide from its current 385 parts per million to at most, 350 ppm. However, persuasive circumstantial evidence shows that the 350 ppm limit was the climate tipping point. Instead, the best way to set a target for atmospheric carbon dioxide is to determine the assimilative capacity for atmospheric carbon dioxide. Until humankind begins to take action to reserve the damage, Mother Nature will continue to alter the climate and do what is necessary to produce change. Mother nature neither negotiates nor forgives.
