Va. 331 A fire-cured variety with black shank resistance
(Virginia Agricultural Experiment Station, 1964-10)
Until recently no fire cured tobacco was available with black shank resistance. The need for such a variety is so acute that Va. 331 will be released at this time.
A new flue-cured variety with black shank resistance: Va. 115
(Virginia Agricultural Experiment Station, 1965-01)
There is a need for additional varieties of black shank resistant tobacco to meet specific farm conditions and market demands. Va. 115 should fill a need for heavier leaf type than some presently available.
