Abstract
Several NGOs and social organizations are collaboratively working in the Cotacachi canton to aid the process of participatory planning for sustainable local development. The research presented here analyzes the role of the different types of capital - social, physical, human, and environmental - that are available in the community can play in the participatory development process.
