Abstract

This presentation describes COMACO (Community Markets for Conservation), a program developed by Wildlife Conservation Society in Zambia to address the interconnected issues of conservation, food security, and markets. The context of the Luangwa River Valley; COMACO's organization and business model, strategies and process; impacts on the watershed, soils, and wildlife; and ongoing research and model optimization are discussed.
