Abstract

This presentation highlights the work of AVRDC- The World Vegetable Center, whose mission is to alleviate poverty and malnutrition in the developing world through increased production, marketing and consumption of safe vegetables. The presentation outlines the issue of poverty and nutrient deficiency in the world, and the economic and health benefits to producing vegetables in developing countries. It outlines the research currently being conducted at global stations, as well as achievements and impacts of that research.
