    Abstract
    This manual provides background information, tools, and guidelines for organizations seeking to incorporate gender mainstreaming in their work. The first section explains the history, major concepts, and policy related to gender issues. The second section summarizes what gender mainstreaming is and how to delegate related responsibilities within an organization. The third section provides tools and guidelines, and the final section contains information about the GEM website.
