    Abstract
The mission of Partners in Health (PIH) is to provide a preferential option for the poor in health care. They ask a community what they need and create community partnerships for the benefit of impoverished communities. Rather than solely treating disease, Partnership in Health tackles the root causes of illness including poverty. PIH has site locations in Haiti, Guatemala, Peru, Mexico, Boston, Russia, Malawi, Rwanda, Burundi, and Lesotho.
