    Abstract
This guide provides information, tools, and practical examples for planning and organizing in communities that are dependent on natural resources. The first section concentrates on the context of natural resource-dependent communities, the importance of planning for the future, and methods such as participation that are critical in community planning and organizing. The second section explains strategies for planning and monitoring community events and activities, while the third section provides specific details for facilitation. Finally, the guide provides sections with suggestions for follow up steps and additional resources.
