    Abstract
This newsletter explains that technology transfer is very important for smallholders because they can use the new information to improve their cropping systems and agricultural potential. Discussion is important for the adoption of innovations and adaptive management, as is described and shown by a planning meeting held by SIBWA on July 28-30 which helped trigger interest and answer questions from smallholder groups.
