Session Management

Cookies used by VTechWorks store a unique identifier that is not connected to the user’s personal information. The cookie is only used to identify that a user is logged in. The session information used by this site is deleted when the browser is closed.

Security

This site has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. Log file access is restricted to system administrators while stored on the server. Log files are rotated regularly and transferred to a separate log storage and monitoring platform. Access to this site’s logs in the storage and monitoring platform are limited to system administrators and Virginia Tech security personnel in response to security incidents and other misuse. User and password information is encrypted before it is transmitted across the network. Users should also consult Virginia Tech's policy on Acceptable Use. Virginia Tech complies with all statutory and legal requirements with respect to access to information.
