Farm workers can get respiratory diseases from mold spores, chemicals, dust, mist, spray, gas, vapor, fumes, or some combination of these. Preventative measures include using the proper equipment such as air purifying devices, mechanical filters, chemical cartridge respirators, gas masks, oxygen providing respirators, supplied air respiratory protection, and self contained breathing apparatus. This publication discusses where you can purchase these respiratory devices and the safety of these devices.en
