BLACKSBURG, Va., Oct. 14, 2008 – In honor of the thirty-fifth anniversary of fraternity and sorority affiliation at Virginia Tech, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, a department within the Division of Student Affairs, will host the Greek Alumni Gala from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 in the Inn at Virginia Tech's Latham Ballroom.
All Virginia Tech fraternity and sorority alumni, students, and staff members of the university’s Greek community from 1972 to present are invited to attend.
The event will honor the history of Greek life on the Virginia Tech campus and reunite alumni from fraternities and sororities from all the graduating classes since the university began officially recognizing Greek organizations in May 1972.
The event will begin with a social at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and special presentations at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 and reservations can be made online. Tables of eight or 10 can be reserved in advance for individual chapters or other large groups.
Virginia Tech’s four governing councils for the Greek community will also host alumni events leading up to the gala, beginning Thursday, Nov. 6 before the Virginia Tech versus the University of Maryland football game.
The goal of this event is to have guests representing each chapter from the history of Tech’s fraternity and sorority community.
