A burner is used to increase the compressor inlet flow temperature and concomitantly reduce the inlet flow density. Alternatively, a low density gas such as helium is injected into the compressor inlet. The ingestion of high temperature gases or other low density gases into the compressor energizes a dynamic response from the compression system that induces rotating stall recovery.application/pdfen-USProcess and apparatus for recovery from rotating stall in axial flow fans and compressorsPatenthttp://pimg-fpiw.uspto.gov/fdd/03/826/057/0.pdf8779151415/1415/11415/17415/26415/116415/118415/11960/794F01D17/08F02C9/28F02C9/16F04D27/02F05D2270/1015782603
