Founded in 1866 with 200 students, the Christiansburg Institute (CI) was a school that educated newly emancipated African Americans. As schools desegregated, fewer students attended the CI, and in the spring of 1966, its final senior class of 22 students graduated. 2016/08/22 - 2016/09/304 photos1 posterSize: 21.9 MBimage/jpegapplication/pdfen-USIn CopyrightHistoryPublic HistoryBlack HistoryChristiansburg InstituteChristiansburg InstituteExhibitionVirginia Tech
