This investigation was conducted to find out whether or not electrochemical activation will improve the adsorptive capacity of carbon. Two types of carbons were used: Graphitar type grades 25 and 39. Aqueous Dieldrin solution was used. Experiments were run to determine the adsorptive capacities of these carbons and their electrochemically activated forms. It was found that the adsorptive capacity of carbons were improved slightly by activation and by the porosity of the carbons. Also the equilibrium relations between aqueous Dieldrin solutions and carbons were determined.vii, 81 leavesapplication/pdfenIn CopyrightLD5655.V855 1971.A8Removal of trace amounts of dieldrin from aqueous solution using electrochemically treated carbonThesis
