In contrast to the ubiquitous organotrifluoroborate salts, difluoroboryl acrylamides are relatively nonpolar and are readily purified by silica gel chromatography. Difluoroboryl acrylamides serve as efficient substrates in cross-coupling reactions to afford the corresponding trisubstituted acrylamides in good to excellent yields.
