The methods involve use of a fluid catalytic bed which is maintained at a suitable pyrolysis temperature. Biomass is added to the catalytic bed, preferably while entrained in a non-reactive gas such as nitrogen, causing the biomass to become pyrolyzed and forming the desired products in vapor and gas forms, allowing the desired products to be easily separated.application/pdfen-USFractional catalytic pyrolysis of biomassPatenthttp://pimg-fpiw.uspto.gov/fdd/32/023/082/0.pdf12184757252/373423/648.148/197R48/198.648/209B01J29/40C10C5/00C10B47/24C10B53/02C10G1/08C10G1/086C10G2300/1014Y02E50/14Y02P30/208202332
