- AHLA Statement on Updated CDC GuidanceAmerican Hotel & Lodging Association (Hospitality Net, 2021-05-19)Chip Rogers, President & CEO of AHLA has announced that AHLA's Safe Stay guidelines will relax mask requirements for guests that are fully vaccinated. However, Rogers encourages hotel employees to remain wearing masks in accordance with the CDC's recommended guidelines. Rogers called on all Americans to get vaccinated before removing their masks and noted that AHLA is carefully considering new guidelines to implement down to members as the mask recommendations continue to evolve and vaccination rates increase.
- Hotel Industry & Union Join To Urge Congress For Aid AHLA, Unite Here Call On Congress To Pass 'Save Hotel Jobs' Act To Help Hotel WorkersAmerican Hotel & Lodging Association (Hospitality Net, 2021-04-29)UNITE Here and AHLA have historically partnered together to back the Save Hotels Job Act being sponsored by Representative Crist of Florida (D) and Senator Schatz of Hawaii (D). The bill is aiming to enable direct payroll grants to be used for payroll and benefit expenses from workers. Additionally, the bill will hope to provide Personal Protective Equipment Tax Credit to promote a safer work environment for employees. Ideally, the bill would give payroll tax credit for 50% of the money used to purchase personal protective equipment.

Alarming statistics from their study detail 71% of hotels will close if there is no relief within the next six months.
