- Communications in Electronic Textile SystemsNakad, Z.; Jones, M.; Martin, T. (2003)Electronic textiles (e-textiles) are emerging as a novel method for constructing electronic systems in wearable and large area applications. This new type of processing system merges textile and electronic technologies. This paper studies the communication requirements between the computing and sensing elements of an e-textile. This communication is studied through the construction of a prototype as well as through modeling and simulation. A new algorithm based on token grid schemes is presented that takes advantage of the e-textile physical configuration.

- NRLMSIS 2.1: An Empirical Model of Nitric Oxide Incorporated Into MSISEmmert, J. T.; Jones, M.; Siskind, D. E.; Drob, D. P.; Picone, J. M.; Stevens, M. H.; Bailey, Scott M.; Bender, S.; Bernath, P. F.; Funke, B.; Hervig, M. E.; Perot, K. (American Geophysical Union, 2022-10)We have developed an empirical model of nitric oxide (NO) number density at altitudes from similar to 73 km to the exobase, as a function of altitude, latitude, day of year, solar zenith angle, solar activity, and geomagnetic activity. The model is part of the NRLMSIS (R) 2.1 empirical model of atmospheric temperature and species densities; this upgrade to NRLMSIS 2.0 consists solely of the addition of NO. MSIS 2.1 assimilates observations from six space-based instruments: UARS/HALOE, SNOE, Envisat/MIPAS, ACE/FTS, Odin/SMR, and AIM/SOFIE. We additionally evaluated the new model against independent extant NO data sets. In this paper, we describe the formulation and fitting of the model, examine biases between the data sets and model and among the data sets, compare with another empirical NO model (NOEM), and discuss scientific aspects of our analysis.

A.; G0 Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2010-01-08)We have measured parity-violating asymmetries in elastic electron-proton and quasielastic electron-deuteron scattering at Q(2) = 0.22 and 0.63 GeV(2). They are sensitive to strange quark contributions to currents in the nucleon and the nucleon axial-vector current. The results indicate strange quark contributions of less than or similar to 10% of the charge and magnetic nucleon form factors at these four-momentum transfers. We also present the first measurement of anapole moment effects in the axial-vector cur-rent at these four-momentum transfers.

A.; Yan, C.; Yun, J.; Zeps, V. (American Physical Society, 2007-08-31)We have measured the beam-normal single-spin asymmetry in elastic scattering of transversely polarized 3 GeV electrons from unpolarized protons at Q(2)=0.15, 0.25 (GeV/c)(2). The results are inconsistent with calculations solely using the elastic nucleon intermediate state and generally agree with calculations with significant inelastic hadronic intermediate state contributions. A(n) provides a direct probe of the imaginary component of the 2 gamma exchange amplitude, the complete description of which is important in the interpretation of data from precision electron-scattering experiments.
