  • Women, land rights, and the environment: The Kenyan experience

    This article examines the multiple factors and contexts that affect women's rights to access land and natural resources in Kenya and around the world. Specifically, the author cites the social construction of gender, legal processes, patriarchal order of many societies, and globalization and advancements in technology as factors which obstruct women's access to land and resources. These issues are addressed in four sections according to women's rights to property, land, environmental resources, and a final section with future recommendations.
