  • From accessing to assessing forecasts: An end-to-end study of participatory climate forecast dissemination in Burkina Faso (West Africa)

    This study compared the responses of farmers to seasonal climate forecasts from three agro-ecological zones of Burkina Faso. Some of the farmers attended local workshops discussing the forecasts and shared the data with others. Some farmers did not attend the workshops, but two-thirds of non-participants interviewed received the forecast from other participants. These findings support the hypothesis that participatory workshops can play a positive role in the provision of climate services to rural African producers.
