- Agricultural technologies for climate change in developing countries: Policy options for innovation and technology diffusionLybbert, T. J.; Sumner, Daniel A. (Elsevier Ltd., 2011)Globally, the effects of climate change on agricultural enterprises have become increasingly evident. Likewise, agriculture’s impact on climate change has been more apparent through mitigation strategies involving new technologies and practices. However, adoption and adaptation of these technologies remain significant obstacles in developing countries, where they may be capable of producing the most change environmentally as well as economically. The purpose of this study is to identify constraints and specific policy changes that will ameliorate this technology transfer issue when implemented in developing countries. The authors develop six policy principles in particular that they argue will be most effective in guiding the adoption of climate change-mitigating agricultural technologies.
