    New 10 Minutes COVID-19 Test Proves Encouraging to Events

    Research experts in Austria are hopeful about the outcome from a recent study conducted with Austria Center Vienna and Vienna University of Business and Economics around a 10 minute COVID-19 rapid test. The tests that were administered to students, staff, journalists, and employees, are similar to pregnancy tests in that two lines will appear if the test is positive and one line will appear if the test is negative. The researchers noted that each attendee should be tested everyday regardless of their previous negative test.

    No-Cost COVID-19 Testing for Event Registrants to Take at Home

    AIM Meetings and Event are working with Inspire Diagnostic and Unisys Corporation to provide free, at-home COVID-19 testing for participants planning on attending an event at a hotel, convention center, or other meeting location. The test kits are free due to either attendee's insurance or funding from the CARES Act. Inspire Diagnostic and Unisys Corporation also provides onsite testing for event attendees at a discounted price for event organizers. The rollout of this program is app friendly with appointment times, results, and orders being store on a mobile device.

    Phoenix Reveals Downtown Transformations as conventions Return

    Although the COVID-19 pandemic hit many CVBs and almost every city hard when it came to tourism, Visit Phoenix has noted the increased development of their city since the beginning on the pandemic. Phoenix has opened more than 100 new drinking and dining options since the start of the pandemic. Additionally, Phoniex has added roughly 1,900 hotel rooms as the Phoniex Convention Center gears up to host it's first large meeting in June.

    Using Swag to Bring a ‘Physical Dimension’ to Virtual Events

    In the trend of the virtual meeting, organizers are also looking for a new creative way of distributing Swag(Stuff We All Get). In this article, a few examples of creative event packaging were introduced; 'Pack with purpose'(curated gift box for the attendees), 'Stickeryou'(the custom sticker for the event), and 'Sugarwish'(Snacks for the digital event). Receiving the tangible present from the organizer, organizers intend attendees to relieve the fatigue from zoom and to get more impacts than just convention giveaway.
