Success. Impact.) and the Council (Fulfilling the Vision 2015-2020).
- West Virginia College-Going Rates By County and High School Fall 2018West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission; West Virginia Community and Technical College System (West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, 2018)This report presents a listing of West Virginia’s college-going rates by county and high school. The report highlights the following facts: Of the 18,880 students who graduated from public or private high schools in West Virginia during 2017-18, an estimated 9,927 (52.6%) enrolled in higher education institutions in the fall 2018 semester. This represents a decrease of 1.9 percentage points in the overall rate since last year. West Virginia public four-year, West Virginia public two-year, and West Virginia independent institutions experienced small decreases, while West Virginia degree-granting proprietary and out-of-state institutions saw slight increases. In addition to the high school graduates who enrolled in a West Virginia college or university in fall 2018, it is estimated that another 1,402 (7.4%) were attending a college or university in another state. This reflects an increase of 0.4 percentage points over last year.

It contains (a) descriptions of and changes to West Virginia aid programs, (b) policy recommendations for West Virginia aid programs, and (c) longitudinal data about recipients of state financial aid and outcomes of these recipients. The Financial Aid Comprehensive Report along with its supplements on federal aid and student loans, together provide a comprehensive view of the principal sources of financial aid at West Virginia colleges and universities. It should be noted that the data presented are for the 2016-17 academic year.
