- More Toda-like (0,2) mirrorsChen, Zhuo; Guo, Jirui; Sharpe, Eric R.; Wu, Ruoxu (Springer, 2017-08-21)In this paper, we extend our previous work to construct (0, 2) Toda-like mirrors to A/2-twisted theories on more general spaces, as part of a program of understanding (0,2) mirror symmetry. Specifically, we propose (0, 2) mirrors to GLSMs on toric del Pezzo surfaces and Hirzebruch surfaces with deformations of the tangent bundle. We check the results by comparing correlation functions, global symmetries, as well as geometric blowdowns with the corresponding (0, 2) Toda-like mirrors. We also briefly discuss Grassmannian manifolds.
- Notes on nonabelian (0,2) theories and dualitiesJia, Bei; Sharpe, Eric R.; Wu, Ruoxu (Springer, 2014-08-05)In this paper we explore basic aspects of nonabelian (0,2) GLSMs in two dimensions for unitary gauge groups, an arena that until recently has largely been unexplored. We begin by discussing general aspects of (0,2) theories, including checks of dynamical supersymmetry breaking, spectators and weak coupling limits, and also build some toy models of (0,2) theories for bundles on Grassmannians, which gives us an opportunity to relate physical anomalies and trace conditions to mathematical properties. We apply these ideas to study (0,2) theories on Pfaffians, applying recent perturbative constructions of Pfaffians of Jockers et al.. We discuss how existing dualities in (2,2) nonabelian gauge theories have a simple mathematical understanding, and make predictions for additional dualities in (2,2) and (0,2) gauge theories. Finally, we outline how duality works in open strings in unitary gauge theories, and also describe why, in general terms, we expect analogous dualities in (0,2) theories to be comparatively rare.
- Notes on Some (0,2) Supersymmetric Theories in Two DimensionsWu, Ruoxu (Virginia Tech, 2017-06-05)This thesis is devoted to a discussion of two-dimensional theories with (0,2) supersymmetry. Examples of two-dimensional (0,2) gauged linear sigma models (GLSMs) are constructed for various spaces including Grassmannians, complete intersections in Grassmannians, and non-complete intersections such as Pfaffians. Generalizations of (2,2) Toda dual theories to (0,2) Toda-like theories are also discussed and some examples are given, including products of projective spaces and del Pezzo surfaces. Correlation functions are computed to show the examples are the correct mirror models.
- Toda-like (0,2) mirrors to products of projective spacesChen, Zhuo; Sharpe, Eric R.; Wu, Ruoxu (Springer, 2016-08-16)One of the open problems in understanding (0,2) mirror symmetry concerns the construction of Toda-like Landau-Ginzburg mirrors to (0,2) theories on Fano spaces. In this paper, we begin to fill this gap by making an ansatz for (0,2) Toda-like theories mirror to (0,2) supersymmetric nonlinear sigma models on products of projective spaces, with deformations of the tangent bundle, generalizing a special case previously worked out for P-1 x P-1. We check this ansatz by matching correlation functions of the B/2-twisted Todalike theories to correlation functions of corresponding A/2-twisted nonlinear sigma models, computed primarily using localization techniques. These (0,2) Landau-Ginzburg models admit redundancies, which can lend themselves to multiple distinct-looking representatives of the same physics, which we discuss.
