The impact has been widespread, providing innovations in business, professional, military, and government applications with considerable political, economic, and social ramifications. With the rapid increase in capabilities has come a corresponding growth in the need to better manage these high-tech resources in order to realize their potential. A primary key to achieving this end is the cost effective, rapid, and reliable processing of information through networking.
