Abstract

When selecting a species to plant for Christmas trees, it is important to consider characteristics, local growing conditions, handling/marketing requirements at harvest, seedling cost and availability, and market potential. Variation for many traits within a given species exists, particularly with color, needle length, growth rate, and form.
