Abstract

The papers contained in this book were presented during a Special Session at the 16th Symposium of the International Farming Systems Association and the 4th Latin American Farming Systems Research and Extension Symposium, which was held at the Universidad Catolica, Santiago, Chile from November 27 to 29, 2000. The theme of the meeting was "Globalization and Local Development: Challenges to Small Scale Production." The papers included in this book focus on community-based natural resource decision making that has resulted from SANREM activities in the Andes, Southeast Asia and West Africa.
