    Abstract
This document looks at some of the major agricultural changes that have been taking place in the Sahel, and at how these changes have affected the most vulnerable sections of the population. It argues that today's crisis is primarily one of the misdistribution of food crops, land and resources, not one of insufficient agricultural production. It concludes with some suggestions for an alternative approach, based on Oxfam's work in the Sahel.
