    Abstract
This presentation compares conventional systems and conservation agriculture practices in Zambia. Because of continuous soil disturbance from ploughing with oxen, the top soil is often exposed, which contributes to poor crop emergence, sheet erosion and temporary flooding in some areas of Africa. This presentation explains the climatic risks and other detrimental environmental effects on crops and soils, and how conservation agriculture can help to increase crop yields and improve soil health.
