Abstract

Improving knowledge networks and enhancing negotiations between local farmers, community organizations, research centers, and non-governmental organizations are very important for technology transfer. Researchers need to be more aware of how decisions are made and how knowledge is passed from farmer to farmer, in order to fully understand the local networks and how best to implement sustainable agricultural practices. Understanding knowledge networks will help promote technological change in agriculture, which can increase agricultural productivity and help support food security and income generation for the long-term.
