dc.description.abstractThis report provides information to improve conflict prevention and resolution. It identifies recurrent conflicts (land tenure and social) and analyzes a set of case studies to determine the most effective mechanisms for prevention and resolution. While noting the difficulties posed by two legal tenure systems (customary and modern), the report highlights the role of local associations in preventing and, if necessary, managing, local conflicts. Mopti is the most likely site of conflicts.en
