This report states that non-academic student supports are activities and programs that are designed to encourage academic success but that do not deal directly with academic content. They include formally structured programs—such as student success courses—and one-on-one services, such as academic, career, and financial aid advising. Some nonacademic student supports are provided in an academic context through activities such as required study groups, mandatory meetings with professors, and faculty/staff interactions with students.en
