Abstract

Although capacity building has become a prevailing objective of most international research and development projects, its methods and standards of evaluation remain unclear. The authors of this book seek to further the discussion on capacity building evaluation and make recommendations by drawing from a several evaluation studies completed by the International System for National Agricultural Research in the Netherlands in 2000. Additionally, they maintain that evaluative studies should also contribute to the effort to which they pertain by producing relevant products that are useful to the development project itself.
