A literature review of slip ring performance and an evaluation of four lubricants in a slip ring wear application

This paper includes a literature search of factors pertinent to the performance of gold on gold slip rings. The search summarizes previous findings and observations on contact resistance, variational contact resistance during sliding, friction, and wear of gold sliding systems. It also summarizes an evaluation of four lubricants for use as possible slip ring lubricants.
