The Forest Bank was started by The Nature Conservancy as a way for private landowners to join together for forest management. The owners would transfer the right to grow, manage, and harvest trees while they would receive a modest annually dividend payment based upon the timbers appraised value. The program began in 2001, but was apparently dissolved in 2003.en
