There are many applications of porous materials, including the polymer, water, and metal filtration units of various industries; catalytic substrates; fuel cell components; surgical masks for doctors; “gortex” gloves for skiers; etc. In this paper, we discuss a novel method to make porous polymers. This method utilizes a mixture containing a biological agent (such as fungi) and a polymer. Characterization of the samples using the optical microscope and the scanning electron microscope (SEM) will also be discussed.en
