dc.description.abstractThe Healthy Eating Index (HEI) was developed to measure compliance with dietary guidelines, and is used by the USDA to monitor change in the Nation's diet. The HEI-2005 was specifically developed to measure compliance with the key diet-related recommendations of the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans. The original HEI was developed in 1995; the HEI-2005 discusses the main differences between its content and that of the original HEI.en
