Abstract

A new organization whose mission is to serve as a diversity resource that will educate, advocate, engage and empower the tourism and events industry, Tourism Diversity Matters, will focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion in our industry 24/7/365. One of the most promising pillars is their apprenticeship program which will allow youths to work a 600-hour apprenticeship in a destination marketing organization such as a hotel, then a convention facility and at the end be guaranteed a job in that community, or assist with other job placement.
